The 20th century was the age of great discoveries. When there were no uncharted lands left on Earth, Man turned to other worlds. Space probes explored the other planets of the solar system, powerful telescopes searched for new stars and distant galaxies. Around 1990, modern equipment allowed astronomers to look for even more fascinating objects - the planets of distant stars. The first planet of a sun-like star was found in 1995, and since then, an array of alien worlds is known. Some of them are presented here. |
