Rules for using images

This site contains many graphic illustrations of extrasolar worlds, or at least my imagination of them. Since these planets are far too distant to see even for the most powerful telescopes of our time, visual artwork is the best way to illustrate them, and their sometimes strange environments. But to create these images in the first place, it requires mental input and a great deal of time.

You may use these pictures for your own purposes, as long as you follow some basic rules:

  • If you use them on your own website, either by linking or downloading them, please give me a short notice via e-mail. If I don't understand the language, I may ask you for a short translation.
  • Please include a link back to the main exoplaneten.de website. I will do the same for you in a future link collection.
  • Please do not modify the files! They are highly compressed JPEGs, and will deteriorate visibly after modification and re-saving. If you need to modify them for any reason, drop me a note and I will see what I can do for you.
  • You are free to make your own private hardcopies, or to make a slideshow of them for your friends and family. But if you intend to use them in a public lecture, please give me a short notice - maybe I can even send you a better picture!

Thank you very much.
